Riverdale, NY (PRWEB) March 18, 2014

Bon Secours New York Health System is pleased to announce CEO Carlos G. Beato has received the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) Outstanding Achievement Award for the fourth quarter of 2013.

In March 2012, CMS issued a request for applications to participate in the Initiative to Reduce Avoidable Hospitalizations among Nursing Facility Residents. This effort aims to improve the quality of care for people residing in nursing facilities. The initiative is focused on long-stay nursing facility residents who are enrolled in the Medicare and Medicaid programs, with the goal of reducing avoidable inpatient hospitalizations. Schervier Nursing Care Center is partnering with Greater New York Hospital Foundation to implement the initiative.

Based on a nomination received by the CMS Medicare-Medicaid Coordination office (MMCO), Beato received the award in recognition of the extraordinary effort and outstanding work in implementing the initiative through Greater New York Hospital Foundation’s New York-Reducing Avoidable Hospitalizations (NY-RAH) Model.

“This award demonstrates the accomplishments of our entire team at Schervier,” said Beato. “I am honored to lead a group of dedicated healthcare professionals who daily demonstrate leadership, teamwork, initiative, versatility, and compassion in being good help to those in need. We look forward to continuing to partner with CMS on this important initiative.”
