i-Sight to Offer 3-Part Webinar Series on Conducting Workplace Investigations
Ottawa, ON (PRWEB) April 09, 2014 -- i-Sight has announced that it will offer a free three-part webinar series on conducting workplace investigations that are procedurally fair. The webinars will be presented on April 24th, May 15th and June 5th at 2pm EST, by Lorene Schaefer, a mediator, workplace investigator, attorney, author and managing partner of Win-Win Resolve, a boutique law firm focused on dispute resolution.
The webinars will focus on procedural fairness throughout the investigation process, with each webinar focused on one stage: preparing to conduct an investigation, conducting an investigation and closing out the investigation.
“Research in the area of procedural fairness consistently concludes that people are more willing to accept even an undesirable outcome when they believe that the decision making process was procedurally fair,” says Schaefer. “Procedural fairness includes giving employees the chance to tell their side of a story, being impartial and consistent, and treating people with respect. The challenge for management is to develop investigation protocols that answer these requirements and instill the trust of reporting employees that the investigation process is procedurally fair,” she says.
“When employees view workplace investigations as fair, they are more likely to report wrongdoing, and that can save companies a great deal of time, money and reputational damage,” says Joe Gerard, Vice President, Marketing and Sales at i-Sight. “We are so pleased to have Lorene Schaefer on board to present this webinar series on this important topic. She has more than two decades of experience in this area and has spearheaded hundreds of complex and sensitive workplace investigations into allegations of misconduct, resolving many situations that could have ended up in costly litigation.”
The webinar series will follow the course of the workplace investigation process, outlining how investigators can ensure procedural fairness at each stage. Prospective attendees can register for the webinars as a series or individually.
