Thousands were in attendance Saturday, March 14 as Cypress Bayou Casino Hotel announced their continued partnership with Susan G. Komen Acadiana through their second year as presenting sponsor of Race for a Cure®. Susan G. Komen Race for a Cure® is about making a difference in the local community while Komen for the Cure is a global leader of the breast cancer movement, having invested nearly $2,487,000 locally and nearly $2 billion since its inception in 1982.
Cypress Bayou Casino Hotel, as a presenting sponsor of Race for the Cure®, provided post-race snacks, water, water bottles, drawstring backpacks, race towel, as well as thousands of dollars in donations in support of the event. More than 40 members of Cypress Bayou Casino’s Charity Runners race team participated in the festivities of Saturday’s event. Jeri St. Blanc of the Charity Runners team took first place as female grand master while many others placed within their age categories.
