BSDI to Sponsor the Art & Science of Health Promotion Conference Event App
(PRWEB) March 19, 2014 -- BSDI, an innovative company known for the technology behind affordable corporate wellness programs, announced today that they will be the Mobile App Exclusive Presenting Sponsor of the Art and Science of Health Promotion (AJHP) Conference on March 24 – 28 in Colorado Springs, Colorado. 2014 marks BSDI’s 8th year of participation at the conference and exhibit.
New to the conference this year will be a mobile app, which was developed by CrowdCompass. AJHP decided to go mobile this year to enhance the experience of attendees. The app, which officially launched on February 22nd, makes the conference accessible via mobile devices and helps attendees engage before, during, and after the conference. The app is available for download at healthpromotionconference.com.
Pam Brittingham, COO of BSDI, decided that being the Exclusive Presenting Sponsor of the mobile app was an opportunity not to be missed. “By participating as a sponsor of AJHP, we demonstrate our commitment to advancements in health promotion; and by sponsoring the first ever conference mobile app, we are affirming our role in the development of the technology that helps achieve those advancements.”
Featured on the app are an exhibit map, networking platform, and “Event Extras.” Attendees can also view the detailed schedule and bookmark sessions they want to attend. Built into the app is the “Click Photo Scavenger Hunt.” The photo scavenger hunt will feature “challenges,” each with a set number of available points. To play, attendees take photos with their mobile device and upload to earn points and badges. Challenges may include activities such as “take a selfie with your favorite presenter” or “show us the view from your hotel window.” Attendees can visit the BSDI exhibit booth and choose from several fun challenges such as “take a photo with a friend at our booth” or “take a photo of yourself taking your resting heart rate.” Prizes will be offered to those with the most points.
As an exhibitor, BSDI will be available at booth 21 and will feature The Motivation Alliance, a comprehensive web portal solution for health promotion programs. The Alliance uses principles of "game mechanics" to maximize fun and engagement for users. Since mobile platforms are rapidly overtaking the desktop as the preferred way for people to work with web portals, The Alliance features a powerful web app that lets participants accept their Challenge of the Day, check their profile and game status, log their workouts and food consumption, check and update their daily goals, and more.
The BSDI Click photo challenge activities were adapted from The Motivation Alliance user interface section called “Challenge of the Day.” These challenges are health-related tasks that offer participants a concrete activity to help them earn points and badges while advancing toward their goals. Challenges may inspire participants to be more active, consider healthier nutrition, or to simply reflect on their personal goals.
Patti Weber, VP of Marketing for the American Journal of Health Promotion states, “We are delighted to have BSDI as a sponsor. They are a perfect organization to support this effort, as a technology company, and as a long-standing participant at our conference. It’s important to us to continue to bring new information and ideas to our attendees, not just in the education sessions, but through our networking, exhibits and sponsors. BSDI consistently delivers in bringing that to our audience each year.”
The 24th Annual Art and Science of Health Promotion Conference will be held at The Broadmoor in Colorado Springs this March. The event will bring together more than 600 health promotion professionals and will feature more than 48 sessions presented by scientists, practitioners, and top program managers in the health industry. The theme of the 2014 conference is “What Works Best in Health Promotion? Perspectives of the Top Program Managers and Scientists.” In addition to notable keynote speakers, intensive training seminars, educational sessions, and an exhibit, the conference will offer opportunities for interactive discussions, networking, fitness activities, and social events. Participants can join in on the conversation with #AJHP2014 on social media.
