Haynes and Boone Washington, D.C. Office Moves to Modern Space Two Blocks from the White House
(PRWEB) March 18, 2014 -- To accommodate expanding ranks of lawyers and staff, the Haynes and Boone, LLP Washington, D.C. office has moved to the fifth floor of PNC Place -- a 12-floor, Class A postmodern office tower with views of the White House and Washington Monument.
The newly constructed 22,000-square-foot space allows the firm to increase the number of offices for attorneys serving a growing base of regional, national and international clients before federal government regulatory agencies, federal courts, international tribunals and in complex transactions of all kinds.
“Our decision to make this move is part of Haynes and Boone’s 20-year commitment to the Washington metropolitan area and our burgeoning client service needs,” says office Administrative Partner Phil Hampton. “The additional space became necessary since we are expanding our regulatory, energy and white collar practice capabilities. It is an exciting time for the firm here in Washington, D.C., and this new space should really enhance our visibility.”
The 356,000-square-foot PNC Place at the corner of 17th & H Streets, NW was a “green choice” for the firm. When it opened in 2010, the building was Washington, D.C.’s first office building designed to achieve U.S. Green Building Council LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Platinum certification, just like the firm’s Dallas headquarters building.
Features of the building include a stunning lobby with a glass bridge, living green wall and three-story recirculating water wall. From late spring through early fall, the water cools the lobby by absorbing heat and dehumidifying it, and in winter, evaporating water adds needed humidity. More than 15,000 square feet of vegetation covers half of the roof providing an added layer of insulation to reduce the need for additional heating and cooling. Recycled water from the building’s cooling towers irrigates the garden.
Attractions for clients and firm lawyers include walkability to the White House, metro stops, museums and the National Mall.
The Washington, D.C. office was established Sept. 1, 1994 with a single lawyer. Today it is the workplace home to more than 30 attorneys and staff.
