Each year thousands of schools in the United States participate in the National Geographic Bee using materials prepared by the National Geographic Society. The competition is designed to encourage geography in the classroom, ignite student interest in the world around them, and increase public awareness about geography. Schools with students in grades four through eight are eligible for this entertaining and challenging test of geographic knowledge.
The GeoBee Challenge app lets users see if they have what it takes to be the next National Geographic Bee Champion! Users are able to explore the world while testing their smarts navigating through beautiful National Geographic provided maps and images.
"National Geographic's apps are enjoyed by millions of people around the world every day, and we need to make sure both the design and content meet our standards of excellence and quality. 10Pearls' work on the updated GeoBee Challenge app has breathed much-needed life into the game, redesigning some key elements to keep it in line with our and Apple's stringent requirements, and ensuring the GeoBee Challenge app has a solid foundation and can provide users with exciting geography quizzes for years to come," commented Jess Elder, Senior Product Manager, Digital Products, National Geographic.
The GeoBee Challenge App features include:
▪ Multiple Choice Rounds: Answers come from a library of more than 1,300 National Geographic Bee questions.
▪ Map Challenge Rounds: Ability to Zoom, pinch, and tap one's way to find spots on an interactive map from a catalog of 1,000+ locations.
▪ Bonus Rounds: Includes compelling National Geographic photographs where users locate what's in the photo on the interactive map...only that the App does not tell you where the photo was taken or what is in the picture!
