Bowley, an England native, has spent his career working in the pest management industry. He began in college as a researcher for the British Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food, studying the biology and control of stored product insects and mites. He’s since held several pest management-related positions, including technical and sales management roles with Rentokil, Steritech and Horizon Pest Control. His experience includes a mix of business management, marketing, technical, product management and sales training roles.
The announcement was made by Cameron Riddell, President of Bird Barrier America.
“Chris has a wealth of experience in the professional pest management industry and has established a reputation for being a valuable and knowledgeable resource for pest management professionals,” Riddell said. “By having worked in corporate sales, marketing and technical roles, he has insight into the needs of our end-user customers and how we can meet their needs. He will be a valuable addition to the Bird Barrier / Pest Barrier team.”
A graduate of Thames Valley University, Berkshire, England, Bowley holds degrees in applied biology and entomology. He moved to the United States in 1983 and settled in Pittsburgh, where he oversaw 14 sales representatives for a local pest management company.
“I’m excited to be onboard with Bird Barrier and look forward to a successful and enjoyable continuation of my pest management career,” said Bowley. “After having spent many years working on the front lines as a pest management professional, I’m eager to be a part of a strong manufacturer with a reputation for treating the end-user as a valuable part of its business.”
He will report directly to Riddell in his new position.
Bowley has two sons and still holds a fondness for Pittsburg — his first home in the U.S.
