Pro Player Health Alliance Associate Dr. Elliott Alpher Becomes First Diplomat in The American Sleep And Breathing Academy Dental Division
Phoenix, AZ (PRWEB) March 19, 2014 -- David Gergen, President of Pro Player Health Alliance (PPHA) and Executive Director of the American Sleep and Breathing Academy (ASBA) Dental Division, recently announced the new Diplomat status of Dr. Elliott Alpher who is also a founding member. Dr. Alpher became a member of the ASBA May of 2013, speaking on “Cervical-Atlas Relationship to Sleep Disordered Breathing” in the first annual Sleep Conference of the Dental Division and speaking again in May 2014 at the conference this year.
Dr. Elliott Alpher is one of Washington DC’s most experienced specialists for sleep and jaw disorders. He is on staff at George Washington University and Georgetown University Hospitals and has been known as a leader in the treatment of sleep disorders and jaw pain for 25 years. Since becoming a member of the ASBA, he has been heavily involved in the progression of sleep disordered breathing awareness nationwide.
With David Gergen and other ASBA members, Dr. Alpher has been part of the team leading the effort to inform government officials with facts regarding obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) and the relation to the transportation industry. After presenting ways to treat truck drivers for obstructive sleep apnea to the Department of Transportation in Washington D.C. July of 2013, President Obama signed into law H.R. 3095 which will make it mandatory for commercial truck drivers to be screened for OSA.

As President of Pro Player Health Alliance, he has been a nationally respected dental lab technician for over 25 years. He received the award for "The Finest Orthodontic Technician in the Country" given by Columbus Dental in 1986. He also has been appointed chair of the dental wing of the American Sleep and Breathing Academy, a national interdisciplinary academy dedicated to sleep training and education.
