Garmin Vivofit is the new activity tracker that measures heart rate and Garmin Vivofit spare bands kit with multiple band colors are now available at the Heart Rate Watch Company.
"With the exception of the Polar Loop, which also measures heart rate, the Garmin Vivofit is superior to every other activity tracker on the market," says Rusty Squire, president of the Heart Rate Watch Company. He adds, "Having the spare band kits for around $20 allows instant band color change to suit your mood or match an outfit."
"While the Garmin Vivofit comes in black and slate colors, the spare band kits add blue, teal and purple to the mix to give you a wide array of color options to choose from," says Squire.
Garmin Vivofit measures pace, distance, calories, sleep patterns and heart rate with the optional heart rate strap version. "The heart rate version comes with a standard Garmin heart rate strap but you can always buy the Vivofit separately and add a soft strap if you would like the most comfortable chest strap option," says Squire.
"Heart rate data is key because activity bands do not measure activity with their accelerometers when your wrist is static, like in cycling or weight lifting, therefore you are not being given much credit for the activity," says Squire. he adds, "This is where heart rate comes into play and the only two bands that deliver it are the Garmin Vivofit and Polar Loop."
Battery Life and Fit
"Garmin Vivofit operates from two user changeable lithium coin cell batteries so it lasts up to a year with no recharging," says Squire. He adds, "Each Vivofit comes with two wrist bands a large and a small so you are ensured of a good fit and there is no cutting required."
