St. Rose, LA (PRWEB) March 19, 2014

Strategic Restaurants Acquisitions, LLC (SRAC), a franchisee of 288 BURGER KING® restaurants, and the Greater New Orleans Muscular Dystrophy Association announced today that the annual Shamrocks mobile program raised more than $154,000 to benefit children and adults affected by muscle disease across the U.S. markets.

Throughout the month of February, SRAC’s Burger King restaurants helped fight back against muscle disease by selling $1 green and $5 gold paper Shamrocks mobiles which were bought and signed by customers and prominently displayed in each store.

“Once again, Burger King and their customers and employees have stepped up to help the communities we serve," said MDA executive Director April Catarella. “Each Shamrock sold will directly help the families we help in the restaurants’ market area. Without the generosity of their communities and the help of businesses like Strategic Restaurants, many of the services MDA provides for families wouldn’t be possible.”

Funds raised through 2014 Shamrock sales will help send area children affected by muscular dystrophy and related diseases to MDA summer camp. The program also helps to support MDA’s worldwide research program and national network of 200 medical clinics.

"We are proud to continue our partnership with the MDA and to be able to celebrate another year of successful fundraising supporting such a great cause,” said Melissa Sabathier, Sr. Director of Marketing for SRAC. “The generosity of our customers and commitment of our team members to MDA is truly outstanding."
