Mississauga, ON (PRWEB) April 07, 2014
Survalent Technology, the most trusted provider of smart grid solutions for the control room, announced today that it has commissioned a new Advanced Distribution Management System (ADMS) for the City of Hurricane, Utah.
Hurricane Power serves almost 6,000 customers within the city limits. Hurricane Power owns and operates its own power generators to meet peak power demand. Currently they have three, 1.6 megawatt Caterpillar diesel generators and six, 2 megawatt Caterpillar natural gas generators. One of the six natural gas generators is owned by Washington City but operated by Hurricane Power through an agreement. Hurricane Power is a member of the Utah Associated Municipal Power Systems.
The new system features Survalent’s highly available, open-architecture system based on Windows Server. It includes several of Survalent's open system applications, including: SmartVU, SCADA Explorer, IED Wizard and Control Panel, and Command Sequencing.
“We welcome Hurricane Power to our ever growing family of ADMS customers,” states Mike Bowdle, Vice President of US Sales. “The new ADMS platform from Survalent Technology will allow them to take full advantage of the new state-of-art GUI and to benefit of all the new applications which have been developed by Survalent on this platform.”
