White Sox Team Physician to Address High-Achieving Students Heading to Chicago for the National Youth Leadership Forum: Explore STEM
Washington, DC (PRWEB) March 21, 2014 -- Committed to helping outstanding young people prepare for and make the most of their future school, college and career experiences, Envison today announced that it is accepting applications for the 2014 Dr. Charles A. Bush-Joseph Scholarship for the National Youth Leadership Forum (NYLF): Explore STEM (http://www.envisionexperience.com/STEM).
The scholarship, made on behalf of Dr. Bush-Joseph, will be awarded to a current middle school student who wishes to attend this summer’s NYLF Explore STEM program in Chicago. Dr. Bush-Joseph, the team physician for the Chicago White Sox and associate team physician for the Chicago Bulls, will be a featured keynote speaker for the program.
The scholarship will be awarded to a student to attend the six-day NYLF Explore STEM session that will take place at Loyola University in Chicago, July 13-18. Dr. Bush-Joseph will be speaking at this session.
Envision will select the recipient of the Dr. Charles A. Bush-Joseph Scholarship based on financial need, scholastic merit, leadership achievement and other factors. The scholarship application for NYLF Explore STEM must be completed by Friday, April 25, 2014. Apply at https://go.envisionexperience.com/emiScholarship/SignIn.aspx.
The scholarship will cover full tuition for the program, including a comprehensive schedule of experiences and skill-building activities to explore STEM fields based on science, technology, engineering and mathematics.
Scholars in the program receive firsthand exposure to STEM professions that are in high demand in the United States and throughout the world. Interactive simulations, hands-on workshops and educational site visits provide opportunities for discovery in fields such as engineering, health care and environmental science. Students also gain valuable college exposure while residing on the campus of Loyola University.
“Envision is thrilled to have such a renowned keynote speaker like Dr. Bush-Joseph take part in our program,” said Jan A. Sikorsky, Ph.D., the Vice President of Education for NYLF Explore STEM. “We are also excited to have the opportunity to make this experience available to a middle school student who may not otherwise be able to attend this life-changing program.”
Additional scholarship opportunities are also available through Envision for NYLF Explore STEM. For more information, email the Office of Admissions at STEM(at)envisionexperience(dot)com or call (855) 571-7081.
