The team at the Hilton Seattle will be encouraging guests to turn off the lights in their room and join in a star gazing celebration from the 29th floor while local writer, David Berger, speaks and light desserts with refreshments are served.
David Berger is formerly staff writer at the Seattle Times, published widely in magazine and newspapers and is currently writing a book about the Northwest beach environment for University of Washington Press. Recognition includes a Sigma Delta Chi for journalism, an Espy Fellowship for Environmental Writing, and a Metcalf Fellowship for Marine and Environmental Reporting. Previous jobs have included communication manager for the Friends of Dunhuang and executive director of the Kruckeberg Botanical Garden Foundation in Shoreline. He is an active member of the Washington Native Plant Society, Puget Sound Mushroom Association, Society of Environmental Journalists, International Association of Art Critics, and past president of the Washington State Hi-Lakers.
