Yamaha, Zildjian and Anaheim White House Restaurant Donate Music Gear to the Boys & Girls Clubs of Anaheim
Buena Park, CA (PRWEB) March 20, 2014 -- Yamaha and Zildjian, in conjunction with the Anaheim White House restaurant, have donated musical equipment to assist the music program at the Boys & Girls Clubs of Anaheim. The donation includes a Yamaha THR10 guitar amplifier to replace an older amp that is no longer functioning, a Zildjian A Custom 18” crash cymbal to replace a cracked cymbal, two instrument cables and 30 pairs of drumsticks.
“We make the most of what we have, but this donation from Yamaha and Zildjian enhances our offerings to students in the program,” said Eric Chavira, music director, Boys & Girls Clubs of Anaheim. “We continued to use the cracked cymbal, but when our amplifier did not start up, the students could not get the full impact and potential of the lessons.”
The donation came about after Dave Jewell, marketing communications manager, Yamaha Corporation of America, learned about the Anaheim White House restaurant’s unusual devotion to feeding children in need throughout Orange County, California, where the headquarters of Yamaha Corporation of America is located. Every day since 2005, owner Bruno Serato has prepared pasta meals for children at ten locations countywide, including the Boys & Girls Clubs of Anaheim. Many of the youngsters that Serato feeds live in local motels due to their parents’ inability to save enough money to afford the deposit required by most rental leases. He serves 1,000 meals every night, seven days a week, for a total of one million meals in all under the rubric of his charity arm Catarina’s Club, named after his mother, who helped start the program. Serato has been featured on Dr. Drew, CNN and other major news outlets for his unusual devotion to underprivileged youth.
