Dr. Matt Schocket Conducts Seminar in Risk Management at the St. Jude Medical National Fellows Program
Austin, TX (PRWEB) March 20, 2014 -- For all medical products and services, risk management over the years has become a very important issue, and thanks to the seminar Dr. Matthew Schocket presented at the St. Jude Medical National Neuromodulation 201 Fellows Program, pain fellows now have a clear-cut strategy on reducing risk in their practices and keeping themselves out of trouble.
Dr. Schocket, founder of Capitol Pain Institute, presented the seminar on Feb. 23 on “St. Jude Medical Products, Troubleshooting and Risk Management” during the two-day, St. Jude Medical National Neuromodulation 201 Fellows Program. The program was designed for fellows who are committed to pain management and the practical applications of spinal cord stimulation (SCS) after completion of their fellowship.
The seminar was given to pain fellows from around country regarding strategies to reduce risk in their practices. Dr. Schocket’s seminar pointed out the importance of proper documentation, consenting of patients, good decision making when deciding which cases to do, how to deal with complications, and more.
"I think it's extremely important that doctors starting their practices understand the importance of proper documentation of everything they do,” Dr. Schocket said, before adding, “It’s something that's stressed in residency, but it's important that they continue to focus on it."
As to Dr. Schocket’s reputation with patients, documentation, and various aspects that his seminar covered, one patient identified as Lisa C., described Dr. Schocket as, by far, the best doctor she’s ever been to.
“I have a chronic condition that causes a lot of pain and leads to other conditions,” she noted. “Not only was he familiar with my condition, he noticed the symptoms of it before I pointed them out. He did order tests so he would get a better understanding of the whole picture. The whole experience was easy. I’ve never had to wait. The staff is super helpful and friendly. I can’t think of anything they could do better.”
Dr. Schocket and his staff were the first to bring stem cells therapy to Austin to relieve chronic pain.
Dr. Schocket, according to company representatives, is a recognized world-leader in the field of Pain Management. He has lectured at multiple national and international conferences, including the American Society of Interventional Pain Physicians, the American Academy of Pain Management, the International Spine Injection Society, the Israeli Pain Society, and the International Neuromodulation Society.
Dr. Schocket currently serves as a national consultant for St. Jude Medical and Johnson & Johnson, as well as a regional consultant for Forest Laboratories and Pfizer.
