WILMINGTON, Del. (PRWEB) March 20, 2014
DuPont Tate & Lyle Bio Products Company LLC applauds Cheryl Lee MD, Sensitive Skin Care for launching the TrueLipids® line of therapeutic, hypoallergenic and non-toxic skin care products made with Zemea® propanediol.
The patent-pending line of TrueLipids® products are all designed to work with the skin to augment its own repair mechanisms in fixing a disrupted skin barrier, to discourage the colonization/growth of S. aureus, and to optimize skin lipid production while being cosmetically elegant, very effective, truly hypoallergenic and non-toxic. Products in the TrueLipids® line that are made with Zemea® include TrueLipids® TrueTherapy™ Deep Moisturizing Ceramide+ Cream For Body, TrueLipids® Hydrate, Correct & Perfect Lotion For Face and Body and TrueLipids® Eczema Experts™ 1 percent Hydrocortisone Anti-Itch Barrier Cream.
“One of the critical ingredients in our formulations is Zemea® propanediol,” said Dr. Cheryl Lee Eberting, board certified dermatologist and inventor of TrueLipids®. “Instead of using a petrol-derived propylene glycol, this plant-based natural alternative was used. Allergy to petrol-based propylene glycol is very common and we felt it was very important to avoid it in our formulations. Because the plant-based molecule is slightly different, it is likely to be less-allergenic and safer. To our knowledge, no allergic reaction to Zemea® in commercial personal care products has ever been documented. We are happy to have a non-petrol alternative that has a good sensitization track record.”
Zemea® propanediol is a natural, 100 percent biobased ingredient made through fermentation of corn glucose and developed for use in the cosmetics and personal care market. It is a high-performance, environmentally sustainable alternative to petroleum-based glycols and glycerin in which the product’s lack of skin irritation, improved moisturization, antimicrobial efficacy and excellent aesthetic properties are benefits. Zemea® is approved as a natural ingredient by Ecocert and the Natural Products Association, is certified 100 percent biobased by the U.S. Department of Agriculture and has both Kosher and Halal certifications.
“We are excited to see leading dermatologists, such as Dr. Cheryl Lee Eberting, recognize the benefits that Zemea® provides to consumers with sensitive skin conditions,” commented Rose Durham, marketing manager for DuPont Tate & Lyle Bio Products. “TrueLipids® therapeutic products will be a cost-effective, over-the-counter alternative to prescription products used to treat atopic dermatitis, all forms of eczema, dry skin, itchy skin and for anti-aging.”
The TrueLipids® complete skincare line will be launched on March 20, 2014, at the Annual Meeting of the American Academy of Dermatology in Denver, Colo., and will be available for purchase through physician’s offices and online soon at CherylLeeMD.com.
