San Jose, California (PRWEB) March 24, 2014
The WinePod Company, http://www.winepodmini.com, announced today the WinePod Mini, a patent pending revolutionary winemaking system that teaches first-time users professional winemaking skills and can also be configured for advanced research and development for the wine industry.
The WinePod Mini utilizes a 40 liter stainless steel tank and has an integrated Brix sensor, automatic temperature control and wine press, and integrated pomace removal. A revolutionary feature of the WinePod Mini is Curve Copy™ which simulates the temperature profile of a host of winemaking environments from low temperature barrel fermentations to the sustained temperatures of larger tanks. This creates higher quality wines. For researchers CurveCopy enables predictable scale up to production size vessels.
The WinePod Mini has been in development since 2013. There will be several versions available starting at $699 with the most advanced version at $1,499. The first WinePod Minis will ship to wine enthusiasts and researchers in December 2014.
Greg Snell, founder of the WinePod company and one of the principal inventors of the original WinePod commented, “It has always been our our goal to create a less expensive version of our original $4,500 WinePod. We have been developing this table top version for many months. Much of the advanced technology is an improvement of the original WinePod technology. The original WinePod introduced innovations such as integrated winemaking software and the all-in-one design."
He further commented, "We will be starting a Kickstarter campaign soon and if we can meet our goal, we will release the first several hundred units to the Kickstarter community."
About the WinePod Mini:
The WinePod Mini utilizes the industry’s most current and proven winemaking methods. The technology in the Mini has already created thousands of great wines. The WinePod Mini is the result of successfully miniaturizing and automating several winemaking steps into a single and affordable all-in-one device.
For universities and wineries, this is an inexpensive way to do micro lot R&D when large scale R&D is not possible or desirable. For consumers, this is the fastest path to go from wine lover to real winemaker with little risk of failure.
The WinePod Mini will come with winemaking software called WineCoach. This is the third generation of the original WineCoach software and can be configured for a first time winemaker with step-by-step guidance or configured for a professional winemaker with process control and automatic data acquisition.
The WineCoach software allows you to follow or create specific winemaking processes for your particular grapes and style goals. Users are prompted when actions are required via the smart phone application or SMS or e-mails. This virtually eliminates winemaking mistakes for first time winemakers.
For professionals, the software enables remote monitoring, process control and repeatability for advanced R&D.
Grapes are available from WinePod and delivered flash frozen to ensure freshness and purity. It is also compatible with fresh grapes or other fruit wines.
