GGG Film Productions Announces; Legendary Actor Slim Pickens: Alive and Well via The Spirit of His Daughter
Toluca Lake, CA (PRWEB) March 28, 2014 -- Little did character actor Slim Pickens of Dr. Stranglelove, Blazing Saddles, One-Eyed Jacks, The Cowboys and a host of other great films and television programs know that lightning would strike his family twice. His daughter, Daryle Ann Lindley-Giardino, has just been named winner of the Western Heritage Museum’s prestigious Wrangler Award. Literally decades after her father won the very same award, Lindley – Giardino will accept her award on April 12 in the great state of Oklahoma and come full circle with her father’s past.
Executive producer and co-writer, Daryle Ann Lindley – Giardino said, "Tears came to my eyes when I heard that our film, Behind The Gate had won the prestigious Wrangler Award. This award is not just an award to me. It means more than I could possibly put into words. To be honored by the National Cowboy and Western Heritage Museum warms my heart because I grew up in the Western tradition." Lindley-Giardino went on to say, "It’s like Dad was smiling down on me and saying, 'Now you have your own Wrangler to put on the mantel next to mine.'" Pickens won the Wrangler in 1971 for the film, The Cowboys.
Lindley Giardino continued, "I cherish this way of life and I am so humbled by the acknowledgement and award from the Western Heritage Museum."
