Genera Staff Members to Speak at International Biomass Event
Vonore, TN (PRWEB) March 20, 2014 -- Project Manager Clay Dye and Vice President of Business Development Sam Jackson of Genera Energy, a Vonore, Tenn.-based biomass feedstock supply chain enterprise, will lend their expert voices to a panel at the upcoming International Biomass Conference and Expo. The conference runs from Mar. 24-26, 2014, at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Fla.
“This event brings together all the major players in the biomass industry, including bioenergy producers, waste generators, crop growers, manufacturers, and the leaders and policy makers who can help get biofuel to the masses,” said Jackson. “We’re excited to be such a big part of it this year.”
Jackson will speak to the panel about building successful biomass feedstock logistical systems. Within his presentation, he will talk about the challenges that arise in managing crops and harvesting, selecting the right equipment to harvest feedstock, and properly managing storage and tracking of the inventory after harvest, all in the most cost-effective manner.
Dye’s presentation will focus on safe and efficient feedstock handling and preprocessing, including the effort required to convert a crop into a uniform format feedstock for downstream use. He will discuss the necessity of integrating efficient processing with safety best practices, and feedstock quality parameters that can affect preprocessing.
“We’ve developed systems that allow for flexibility in a variety of feedstock characteristics during processing,” said Dye. “One of the goals of our presentations is to highlight how Genera Energy has found innovative ways of growing, harvesting, processing and handling biomass feedstock, through our own experiences.”
