C. C. Young Breaks Ground On Transformative Central Park
Dallas, TX (PRWEB) March 20, 2014 -- C. C. Young today announced the groundbreaking and construction of the 23,000 square-foot Central Park which will transform the East Dallas campus. The new park will include a 10’ x 30’ water feature, a memory walk that memorializes loved ones, a covered flexible performance pavilion with seating for up to 150, 30’ Cathedral Live Oaks, bermed landscaping, and numerous outdoor seating areas for residents and families to enjoy the outdoor spaces.
“We are so grateful to be the beneficiary of this transformed space,” commented Russell Crews, President and Chief Executive Officer of C. C. Young. “Through the generosity and vision of Nancy Ann and Ray Hunt, we are able to provide our residents and our off-campus community with another beautiful setting that engages the mind and stimulates creativity.”
The new central park is designed by Matthew Murrey Design in conjunction with C. C. Young partner, D2 Architecture. Continuing the design aesthetic of The Overlook which opened in 2011 and The Point which opened in 2007, the new Central Park will be a cohesive addition to the overall campus. “We are thrilled to have the opportunity to partner with C. C. Young once again. This organization understands what it means to be of service to the senior community and their families,” said David Dillard, Principal at D2 Architecture.
Phase One of The Central Park at C. C. Young has begun and is expected to be complete in May 2014. Phase Two will commence immediately thereafter with expected completion by Fall 2014.
“Our new park will transform campus life and will provide an inviting space for relaxation. It will be a community-wide venue for performances and programming of all genres, and will continue to beautify our campus while providing another unique setting for our residents,” noted Denise Aver-Phillips, Director of The Point, Center for Arts and Education. “This park enables the scope of our programming to expand significantly and we intend to utilize every square foot for the benefit of the entire community.”
