Austin, TX (PRWEB) March 26, 2014
TabbedOut, a leader in mobile payments for bars and restaurants, announces new executive hires George Zirkel, Chief Revenue Officer, and Ari Horowitz, EVP, Strategic Partnerships & Corporate Development. The new executive hires come as part of TabbedOut’s expansion from its launch in Austin, Texas, to its expansion into the New York, Miami, Los Angeles, and Chicago markets.
A 20 year industry veteran, Zirkel brings deep payments expertise and relationships with merchant acquirers, card issuers and distribution partners to TabbedOut. Formerly Vice President of Innovation, Mobile & Advanced Solutions, Zirkel helped launch many successful partnerships between First Data and industry leading mobile payment, loyalty and marketing organizations.
Horowitz, a media and technology entrepreneur, comes to TabbedOut with more than 20 years of experience in building consumer brands, structuring high-impact strategic partnerships, and technology acquisitions. Formerly CEO of BlackBook Media and Vibe Media leading up to their sales, Horowitz was responsible for transitioning traditional media brands into the digital world. Prior to the media endeavors, Horowitz spent 12 years building technology business including two successful IPOs and four sales to public companies.
Zirkel and Horowitz will report to Alex Broeker, Chief Executive Officer TabbedOut.
“With thousands of bars and restaurants now using the TabbedOut platform and the recent launch of our Periscope CRM application, we are aggressively pursuing our market expansion,” said Alex Broeker. “We intend to continue to augment our executive team to capitalize on this momentum.”
“TabbedOut has a very compelling product for merchant acquirers to provide solutions rather than just credit card processing” said Zirkel. “The Periscope CRM solution integrated with our consumer mobile payments application is a game changer for the industry - it provides for a much better hospitality experience for both merchants and consumers.”
“Having spent the past ten years hearing the needs of the leading hospitality proprietors, I see the tremendous value in staying connected with customers through the TabbedOut CRM solution which is integrated with mobile payments,” added Horowitz. “Once consumers get a taste of mobile payments in hospitality, it feels archaic and frustrating to not have the option to pay with your phone.”
Our mission is to make the food and beverage experience easier for customers and smarter for businesses. TabbedOut is a venture-backed company with an innovative approach to customer loyalty via mobile payments. Our mobile app is fully integrated with POS systems, allowing customers to order, pay bills, split checks, and redeem offers directly from their phones. Our proprietary CRM tool, Periscope, allows merchants to gather valuable data about their customers, learn about their business, and communicate directly with guests.
