Chris Thornton takes glazing helm at Auto Windscreens
Kent (PRWEB UK) 20 March 2014 -- Auto Windscreens, a company firmly at the forefront of UK vehicle glass repair, is delighted to announce the appointment of Chris Thornton as its new Manager Director.
Chris, who joined Auto Windscreens on Monday (17 March), will use his wealth of experience in automotive market-leading service businesses to lead the thriving glazing operation into the next chapter of its growth and innovation. He has previously held senior positions at Autoglass and Lex Autocentres.
Chris takes over from Nigel Davies, now Sales and Business Development Director, who played a vital role in reaffirming Auto Windscreens’ position as a leading glass repair provider after it was acquired by Trifords Limited in 2011.
“Auto Windscreens is a company that is ‘clearly going places’ thanks to the belief of its workforce and the exceptional proposition offered to all our business customers, predominantly in the insurance and fleet sectors, said Chris. “Under Nigel’s leadership the company triumphantly rose from ashes to once again become a windscreen repair heavyweight. It is with pride that I now take the helm and look to build upon the achievements of the past three years to steer the company into a new era of success.”
Auto Windscreens reformed in March 2011 and was faced with a tough challenge to rebuild not only its business operations but also market confidence. It has firmly accomplished both, with supplier contracts secured with high-profile insurers, including Admiral and BGL Group. It has also successfully re-entered the fleet sector, naming Hertz, Ogilvie Fleet, Sixt and others among its client base.
Nigel added: "I welcome the appointment of Chris to help us write the next chapter in our Auto Windscreens’ story. In my new position of Sales and Business Development Director, I am keen to nurture existing relationships and develop new ones, and will work very closely with Chris to ensure we continue to surpass the expectations of our partners and end users.”
