Maponics, a leading provider of geospatial data, today announced that Dan Adams has been promoted from Chief Operating Officer to Chief Executive Officer.
Founder and previous CEO Darrin Clement will remain at Maponics as Chairman of the Board and will explore new markets for the company.
Clement promoted Adams to CEO because of the company’s geometric growth stemming from the introduction of Context™, the thirteen new data offerings that make up the first-ever comprehensive suite of lifestyle and behavior analytics tied to relevant geographies. With this new product line, the company’s data management responsibilities have grown considerably. “The scale of the business is growing,” explained Clement. “We are committed to maintaining and improving Maponics’ high quality of service and customer experience while engaging new opportunities. Dan Adams brings 17+ years of relevant industry experience to the position of CEO, including business development, sales, operations, supplier management and management of customer relationships. At TomTom, Adams served as VP of Location and Live Services, VP of Geospatial Sales, VP of Product Management and VP of Partner Development. At TeleAtlas, Adams was VP of Data Sourcing and VP of Operations. Adams also held several posts at GDT, including VP of Transportation Development and Manager of Business Development.
