Organizers of the TEDxNashville 2014 conference have announced the conference schedule and talk titles. The annual conference, now in it’s fifth year will be held this Saturday, March 22, 2014 at the Tennessee Performing Arts Center. HearingPlanet, a leading national retailer of hearing aids and the first to provide a hearing aid comparison tool, is a sponsor.

Among the talks recently announced are:

Johnathan Crutchfield and DeShaun Clarke, seniors at Cane Ridge High School, “One of Us”
Scott Rouse, behavior analyst and language expert: “Body Language Frankenstein”
Tasha Lemley, co-founder of The Contributor, Nashville’s homeless newspaper: “Desperately Seeking Opportunity”
Cliff Ricketts, professor of agri-business and agri-science, Middle Tennessee University: “Running Engines Off of Sun and Water: Science or Science Fiction?”
Michael Vandenbergh, David Daniels Allen Distinguished Chair of Law & Director of Climate Change Research Network, Vanderbilt University: “Buying Time: The Private Governance Response to Climate Change”
Marcus Whitney, Founder Moontoast Inc., “Nashville Hustle: to change your world, you gotta lie a little.”
Jane Landers, Professor of History, Vanderbilt University, “The Missing Century of Black History in the Americas”
Chris Lee, VP of Technology, Anode, Inc. “Robots, Spaceships, and Greeblies: Build Your Dream”

This year’s conference does not have a theme and so speakers were free to choose their own topics. Speakers have 18 minutes to give their talks. Most of the speakers will be available for questions after the conference, at the after-party held in TPAC’s lobby.
