Aesent Launches Kickstarter Campaign for the “World’s Most Comfortable Tent”
Pleasant Grove, UT (PRWEB) March 20, 2014 -- Utah-based start-up Aesent launched their Kickstarter campaign promoting their patent-pending tent design that features an integrated inflatable base. Within 2 days of launching, they were able to attain nearly 20% of their overall funding goal and were featured on the popular page under Kickstarter's Design category.
“We love the outdoors and aim to make products that allow people to more fully enjoy their time in nature,” said Dan Robertson, founder of Aesent. “Our tent is a 4-man domed tent with a 6 inch inflatable base. The base can be inflated within minutes to provide a firm, supportive surface for the camper without the need for extra pads, mattresses, or cots.”
The tent’s base is designed using a special type of vinyl that is significantly thicker than a standard camping air mattress. This allows for the tent to be set up on nearly any type of terrain without the fear of the base puncturing or deflating. The base is also removable, and via a second set of pole anchors, can be set up as a standard light-weight tent for those times when you need to hike to your campground.
"We noticed that all of the tent companies have been focusing on making their tents lighter or easier to set up, but none have focused on making the tent itself more comfortable,” said Robertson. “The whole thought process around our tent focused on making a durable, long-lasting tent that would make it easier and more comfortable for families to spend time in nature together, year after year.”
The Kickstarter campaign, which runs through April 17, will allow Aesent to raise enough money to meet their manufacturer’s minimum order quantity. If the company succeeds in surpassing its goals, it has plans to release a 2-man, 6-man, and backpacking version of its tent next year.
Robertson is a Marketing Major at Utah Valley University and will graduate this spring. He currently resides in Pleasant Grove, UT with his wife, Michelle. They are expecting their first child, a boy, in June.
