Stamford’s $300 million state-of-the-art campus is centrally located, easily accessible and just steps from the Woodleigh MRT.
Stamford is pleased to announce that it has received full accreditation from both the Council of International Schools (CIS) and the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC). In addition, Stamford has also received the full authorization for the International Baccalaureate Diploma Program (DP).
The Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC) is one of six regional accrediting associations in the United States. WASC extends its services to over 4,500 schools that fulfill a rigorous accreditation process which fosters excellence in education by encouraging school improvement. WASC accreditation recognizes schools that meet a high level of quality, in accordance with established, research-based WASC criteria. WASC accreditation validates the integrity of a school’s program and student transcripts, easing student transfer and ensuring that credits are recognized.
The Council of International Schools (CIS) is a membership community committed to high quality international education. As a global non-profit membership organization, CIS provides services to education institutions that share a desire to provide students with the knowledge, skills and abilities to pursue their lives as global citizens and a commitment to high quality international education. The CIS community includes more than 660 schools and 490 colleges and universities representing 104 countries.
The IB Diploma Program (DP) authorization completes Stamford’s full accreditation with the International Baccalaureate. The DP is the culminating IB program following the Primary Years Program (PYP) and Middle Years Program (MYP). The DP is an academically challenging and balanced program of education that prepares students in Grade 11 and 12 for success at university and life beyond. It has been designed to address the intellectual, social, emotional and physical well-being of students and has great recognition and respect from the world’s leading universities.
Superintendent Malcolm Kay commented on the success saying, “Stamford is very proud to add the IB Diploma and WASC/CIS accreditations as they reflect the successful development of our educational programs. I’d like to extend my thanks to the teaching staff for their dedication and commitment throughout the authorization process in ensuring the receipt of these accreditations in record time.”
Stamford is now fully accredited by WASC, Council of International Schools, Edutrust, and the Council for Private Education. Stamford is also an International Baccalaureate World School authorized to offer the IB Primary Years Program (PYP), IB Middle Years Program (MYP) and the IB Diploma Program (DP).
