New York, NY (PRWEB) March 21, 2014 -- Ticket Down announces that rock legends KISS and Def Leppard have joined together for a 2014 blockbuster tour.
What better way to celebrate being inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in their 40th year together than to hit the road for a huge summer tour. That is what KISS is planning to do in 2014 and they will not be hitting the road alone as they will be joined by Def Leppard. These are two of the most popular groups of all time and are both known for putting on remarkable shows for their fans at live shows. The tour will kick off West Valley City, Utah at the USANA Amphitheater on June 23 and will run through Aug. 31 and a show at the Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion in Woodlands, Texas.
KISS first formed in 1973 in New York City and is known for their white and black face paint. When they perform live, the group enjoys putting on a memorable show for their fans featuring fire breathing, shooting rockets, pyrotechnics, blood spitting and more. The original group consisted of Paul Stanley, Gene Simmons, Ace Frehley and Peter Criss. Just Stanley and Simmons remain from the original four and both members are recognized everywhere they go as two of the best of all time.
The group has released 20 studio albums, 10 live albums and 11 compilation albums. Collectively, these albums have sold more than 100 million copies around the world and more than 40 million in the United States. Their most successful albums in the U.S. have been Destroyer, Alive II, and Smashes, Thrashes & Hits, all of which have been certified platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America two times. Among their most popular singles include “Rock and Roll All Nite,” “Shout It Out Loud,” “Calling Dr. Love,” “Detroit Rock City,” and “I Was Made For Lovin’ You.”
In the case of Def Leppard, they were formed in 1977 in Sheffield, England. The group came into the music business during a time when British heavy metal began to quickly gain in popularity. Since 1992, the group has been made up of Rick Savage, Joe Elliot, Rick Allen, Phil Collen and Vivian Campbell.
As a group, they found their greatest success around this time and have sold more than 100 million records around the world. Included in those sales is their 1987 release, Hysteria. In the U.S. alone, the album has sold more than 12 million copies and sales have reached more than 20 million worldwide. Among the songs that fans will hope to hear Def Leppard perform live on this tour with KISS include “Pour Some Sugar on Me,” “Love Bites,” “Rocket,” “Let’s Get Rocked,” and “When Love & Hate Collide.”
KISS and Def Leppard will be playing many of the most popular venues in the U.S. including the Xfinity Center in Mansfield, MA; Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City, NJ; Molson Canadian Amphitheatre in Toronto, Ontario, Canada; Target Center in Minneapolis, MN, The Forum in Los Angeles, CA and the Saratoga Performing Arts Center in Saratoga Springs, NY.
