Facilitated Workshops Give Marketing Teams the Processes, Organization, and Structure They Need to Successfully Execute their Top Business Goals

OpenView Venture Partners, an expansion-stage venture capital firm focused on providing its technology companies with deep operational support, shared today information about a marketing workshop it hosted for open data solutions provider Socrata. The details of the workshop are captured in a new case study entitled, “Going Off-Site to Gain Critical Marketing Focus and Insight.”

The three-day workshop held in Boston was designed to assess Socrata’s 2014 marketing objectives; analyze those goals to make sure they were focused, organized, and aligned with the company’s marketing activities; and prioritize initiatives in a way that would allow Socrata’s marketing team to maximize its impact. Socrata’s seven-member marketing team came from Seattle to attend the event.

“Socrata had all of the right pieces in place, it just needed to tighten its focus and optimize execution,” says OpenView’s Director of Growth Strategy Devon McDonald. “The workshop we put together was designed to ensure that everyone on the Socrata marketing team was on the same page, that the goals they set for themselves were specific and measurable, and that they had the right processes, technology, and focus in place to meet those objectives.”
