This training helps ensure that all health-related information on any document, including medical records, is handled in accordance with HIPAA privacy rules while at any Digiscribe facility.
Privacy regulations of HIPAA – the 1996 Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act – require that healthcare providers and organizations, as well as their business partners, develop and follow procedures that ensure the confidentiality and security of protected health information (PHI) – when it is created, transferred, received, handled or shared.
Business partners, including document scanning companies, must provide proof of a formal and documented training program regarding how to handle PHI in a private, secure and confidential way while in their care. HIPAA compliance training meets this federal requirement.
