Be Great Partners Hosts Pencils of Promise 2nd Annual LA Benefit
Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) March 24, 2014 -- The fastest growing Los Angeles incubator-accelerator Be Great Partners has teamed up with global educational nonprofit, Pencils of Promise, to host their 2nd annual Pencils of Promise LA Benefit on April 3rd at 7pm at Unici Casa, 9461 Jefferson Blvd., Culver City, CA 90232.
“Last year, the Be Great Partners' event built one full school with Pencils of Promise, and this year we hope to build many more,” says Kelly Mi Li, Partner at Be Great Partners. “Pencils of Promise is dear to my heart and this will make for another incredible evening of fun and raising money for education.”
Be Great Partners donated all of last year’s Be Great Fest’s ticket sales to Pencils of Promise, benefitting school classrooms, educational programs, and children looking to attend school in developing countries. This is all to help Pencils of Promise in their belief that where you start in life shouldn’t dictate where you finish. Every child deserves access to quality education and Pencils of Promise is sparking an international youth movement to address the global education crisis. With 57 million children lacking access to education, the need for change is undeniable.
To date, Pencils of Promise has built more than 200 schools around the globe, impacting over 180,000 lives and providing more than 12 million instructional hours throughout Laos, Nicaragua, Guatemala and Ghana.
By 2015, Pencils of Promise plans to build 500 schools, distribute 10,000 student scholarships, train 1,000 teachers and educate 10,000 students on sanitation and hygiene. With Be Great Partners and the community’s help, they can unlock the promise of thousands of kids and positively impact populations around the globe.
The event organized by Letizia Silvestri Events will include an open bar hosted by Zing Vodka and ONEHOPE wine, premium hors d'oeuvres, music by DJ Sandra Luesse, a live performance by Dan + Shay and a silent auction. All attendees will receive a gift bag that includes a signed copy of Adam Braun's new book "The Promise of a Pencil." Notable hosts include Adam and Scooter Braun, Joanna Krupa, Maejor Ali, Kenny Hamilton, Chris Jacobs and more.
