Natures Sleep Names a Winner in Art Is Sleep Contest
Davie, FL (PRWEB) March 25, 2014 -- Natures Sleep is proud to announce the winner of the Art Is Sleep contest. The artist by the name mutrux is the Grand Prize Winner with the submission entitled “Breakfast in Bed.” The winning entry is a painting depicting a woman sound asleep on her bed, with her cat, bird in mouth, sitting next to her on the bed. The lucky winner takes home a brand new memory foam mattress from Natures Sleep.
“We had a tremendous response to our contest,” said Alan Hirschhorn, Vice President of Marketing for Natures Sleep. “We were inundated with creative entries by very talented artists. We only wish we could display all of them.”
The grand prize winning entry, as well as the rest of the top five entries and some honorable mentions, are being displayed on the Natures Sleep website. The contest was a new idea for the mattress company, who believes that a great mattress is similar to a beautiful piece of art.
“The Art of Sleep contest was inspired by an art exhibition at the Art Basel show in Miami, where artists Wade Guyton and Kelley Walker turned mattresses into a work of art. The designs, colors, and the use of mattresses as a canvas inspired Natures Sleep to present this contest,” said Mr. Hirshhorn.
The contest called for the creation of any type of art, such as a painting, a drawing or a photo, that encompasses sleep, a bed or a mattress. People were then able to vote for their favorite piece of sleep art.
While a mattress is not a piece of art that would hang on a wall for others to admire, it certainly should be something each individual looks forward to seeing at night time. The art contest is really a collection that shows how much people appreciate the way a mattress makes them feel every night.
