Shawcity provided the perfect solution for Carnival, a cruise ship company with ships all over the world.
Carnival came to Shawcity looking for advice on how to check hearing protection zones were adequate. Shawcity provided them with a solution to their problem, the SE402 – an ideal monitor to measure and manage workplace noise exposure.
Shawcity supplied 10 SE402’s to Carnival, along with 10 lots of specific training on board each ship.
Carnival needed to measure the noise at sea within the engineering rooms of each ship and identify any areas of possible noise exposure.
This light weight, easy to use instrument was the ideal solution for Carnival, with rechargeable batteries that last up to 18 hours and data logging for up to 34 days to suit the lengthy time at sea.
Roisin Dunne; Safety Superintendent for Carnival, commented “The service we have received so far has been speedy and efficient. The noise meters we have selected are suitable for the task. The training Alex (Shawcity Sales Representative) has carried out on board has been well received by those crew members that he has met with. We have been happy with the service that has been provided.”
New for 2014 is the release of the intrinsically safe SE-400 (ATEX approved).
