LMC Annual Meeting Sees Dealers Expecting Busy Months Ahead
Wayne, PA (PRWEB) March 26, 2014 -- Warm temperatures in Tampa for LMC’s Annual Meeting helped buoy dealers and suppliers creating an event bustling with activity and positive outlooks. LMC Dealer attendance and suppliers booths were up ten percent over last year. With warm weather coming, both dealers and suppliers expect pent up demand and delayed starts due to the harsh winter to make for some very busy months ahead.
LMC’s Annual Meeting started with a day of education featuring Craig Webb, Editor of ProSales and Remodeling Magazines, and seminars by Jeff Tobe and Donald Cooper who provided ideas to improve operations and customer service.
During the annual event’s Update Breakfast, John Somerville, LMC President and CEO, reported on highlights this past year stating that LMC Sales were up over 23% eclipsing the 3 Billion mark. Truckload shipments also experienced double digit increases. John states, “As our dealers expand and re-envision their businesses, LMC stands behind them, as a learning annex, a resource for market intelligence, new products and growth. LMC is their Wingman!”
At the Annual Stockholders meeting that took place on Friday morning, Bob McNamara from Arlington Coal & Lumber was elected to the Board of Directors. William Wren from Maner Builder Supply was recognized as the new Vice Chair. Re-elected for another 3 year term were Kyra Bishop from Berry Home Center, Hamid Taha from Alpine Lumber, and Drew Orem from Alliance Lumber. The Board also approved two new dealers, TH Rodgers with locations in Oklahoma, Arkansas, Kansas and Missouri, and Southern Brands Inc. in Florida.
The annual event featured a New Products Area filled with innovative products recently brought to market. LMC Dealer votes for Best New Products, the winner are:
First Prize Winner – Concrete Lumber Company for their Concrete Lumber
Second Prize Winner – Trim Clip, LLC for the Miter Clip
Third Prize Winner – Leatherneck Hardware for their Flat Track Display
Special recognition during the event went to Jackson Lumber & Millwork on being named ProSales Dealer of the Year. On hand to receive the award was Mark Torrisi and his father Al Torrisi. Mark Torrisi commented: “It is a great honor to be included with fellow LMC Dealers who have won this award but in all honesty the real credit goes to the 150 people who work at Jackson Lumber.”
Two LMC Dealers received recognition for milestone anniversaries: Sanford & Hawley on 130 years in business and Koopman Lumber on their 75th year in business. Bob Sanford accepted the award for Sanford & Hawley and when asked about their success he said: “LMC is a huge resource. We get the best products at the best prices, especially when the market is short. These past few years in particular we’ve relied on the resources LMC provides as far as market information and advice.”
