Summit Stories Combines Charity and Technology On Mount Everest
San Francisco, CA (PRWEB) March 25, 2014 -- Summit Stories, a philanthropic mountaineering project focused on bringing educational opportunities to underprivileged youth and local communities across the the world, today announced its upcoming expedition to the top of Mount Everest. Mount Everest is the world’s tallest mountain at 8,848mt, 29,029ft in Nepal. The mission helps the Nepal Youth Foundation, a local non-profit that supports children affected by HIV, to build a new Life Center.
While climbing the world’s tallest mountain, the Summit Stories team will test out and use innovative technologies from its supporting partners such as SmartMio (the world's first connected & wearable sports muscle stimulator) and FitCentrix (central hub for fitness and health-related data analysis). PayPal, the leading provider of mobile payment solutions, is used for the fundraising contributions as well as to make payments and transfer money during the expedition.
“Based on the success of the Kilimanjaro expedition last June, Summit Stories is now bringing its innovative philanthropic mountaineering model to Everest,” states Francesco Rovetta, Founder of Summit Stories. “Our expedition marries technology and philanthropy to help the local Nepalese children and community.”
