The Grommet, an online marketplace and product launch platform for innovative and undiscovered products, today announced O-Rings by Increment and The Compost Shredder by Ecotonix as the winners of its 2nd Annual Product Pitch Competition which took place at Boston’s historic Fenway Park on Thursday, March 20th.
Both products receive a full launch on The Grommet and the chance to appear before the company's dedicated audience of over one million subscribers who turn to the company every day to discover the next amazing consumer product, months ahead of the curve. In addition, the teams are awarded with a custom workshop at The Grommet to lay groundwork for launch, and a suite of prizes and support from event sponsors including Gennari Aronson, MassChallenge, Shipwire, General Assembly, Grasshopper, and WeWork.
O-Rings by Increment is the winner of the competition’s Ready for Crowdfunding Award. In addition to above prizes, the team will receive a fees-waived crowdfunding campaign from Indiegogo, a dedicated campaign coach and professionally produced crowdfunding video and marketing materials.
"We are honored to have both attended and won in our category. The Grommet is an ideal support platform and team as they celebrate entrepreneurs and makers just like us. We can't wait to start our campaign for inclusive play and launch our O-Rings on The Grommet," said Increment Co-Founder Maeve Jopson.
The Compost Shredder by Ecotonix is the winner of the competition’s Ready for Market Award. In addition to above prizes, this team will receive several exclusive placement opportunities with media partner Boston.com and a $1,000 PPC marketing campaign.
"Attending and winning this pitch event was like hitting a grand slam. After years in design and development, it felt good to gain a strong endorsement and it’s proof that an idea can become a real product through dedication and hard work. Working with the product launch experts at The Grommet is an exceptional opportunity," said Ecotonix founder, Gail Loos.
The day started with eight enthusiastic finalist teams, four that were ready to begin a crowdfunding campaign and four that had products ready for market. Each team began the competition with a great story to share and a promising product pitch.
“The eight teams that I met are a true testament to our nation of creative, inspiring Makers that are working to change our economy, our world and the way we shop. The grit and determination of these emerging companies is palpable. Our team is looking forward to working with our winners,” said Jules Pieri, Co-Founder and CEO of The Grommet.
