Stefano Zunino Elevated to CEO JWT LATAM in Region Restructure
New York, NY (PRWEB) March 25, 2014 -- As part of a regional restructure in Latin America and Brazil, JWT Worldwide announced today the reintegration of the two regions under Stefano Zunino, newly appointed CEO of JWT LATAM. Beginning April 1, 2014, Zunino will oversee JWT operations in Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Costa Rica, Nicaragua, Guatemala, El Salvador, Panama, Colombia, Mexico, Peru, Puerto Rico, Venezuela and Ecuador. He will maintain his role as Head of Digital Worldwide. Zunino assumes this role as Jimmy Evans leaves his post as President of JWT Latin America & Caribbean to take on a new role as President of Blue Hive Europe (part of WPP's team structure handling the global Ford business).
Commenting on the restructure, Chairman and CEO Bob Jeffrey said, “We have long treated Brazil and Latin America as two separate regions – one for Portuguese-speaking Brazil and another for Spanish-language countries. Given the economic shifts occurring in the region and a need to stay ahead of trends, we have decided to unite both regions under the same leadership.”
Zunino has significant international and LATAM experience. He started his career in Milan; he also worked in Chicago and London before moving to Argentina in 1998. From there he moved to Brazil in 2002.
He joined JWT in 2005 to lead operations in Brazil out of São Paulo, and has radically changed the face of JWT in this key market over the past 10 years as a driving force behind the growth and strengthening of its digital offerings. In 2013, the region secured seven new account wins including LINE, Raia Drogasil and AVON digital. Under Zunino’s tenure, revenues have not only doubled, but also shifted to yield more than half of Brazil’s revenue from digital.
“Stefano Zunino’s work in Brazil and ongoing digital work at the network level have delivered dramatic results for JWT, and we are thrilled to see him take the helm in one of our most exciting regions. JWT Brazil is younger, more digital and our best example of how to future-proof an operation,” said Global President Gustavo Martinez.
JWT Brazil Group has in recent years expanded to include a full range of services including social, SEM, SEO, analytics and a full gamut of digital and creative services delivered through the addition of leading shops Casa, i-Cherry and Mutato, as well as JWT’s own operations.
“I am confident that Stefano’s proven track record and successful experience place him in good position to lead the reintegration of the region. Our expectation is that the sharing of experience between Portuguese-speaking Brazil and Spanish-speaking LATAM will bring new pan-regional solutions for our clients and great new business opportunities for the network,” added Martinez. “This will be a smooth transition and we wish Jimmy Evans all the best in his new role.”
