Feed Our Vets Gaining Exposure and Financial Support through Partnership with Patriotic Online Marketplace
Utica, NY (PRWEB) March 31, 2014 -- Feed Our Vets operates food pantries and a mobile food truck in upstate New York, providing meals to homeless, unemployed and underemployed veterans and active duty military members who are struggling to feed themselves and their children. The nonprofit organization also works with agencies nationwide to address the issues of hunger among veterans.
Feed Our Vets receives $20,000 a year from The Veterans Site. The online store is a division of Greater Good, a charitable marketplace where retail purchases help improve the health and well being of people, pets and the planet. Since 2006, Greater Good has given over $30 million to charity partners and programs worldwide that work toward its mission.
The Veterans Site sells patriotic gifts, clothing, jewelry and home accessories. Every purchase funds meals for homeless and hungry veterans. Last year, shoppers on The Veterans Site helped fund an estimated 95,000 meals provided to veterans through several organizations, including Feed Our Vets.
“Our partnership with The Veterans Site is invaluable, helping us feed hundreds of veterans and their wives and children throughout the year,” said Richard Synek, founder and executive director of Feed Our Vets. “The site reaches a worldwide audience with its online marketplace, enabling us to call attention to the hunger needs among veterans and active duty military far beyond the reaches of our food pantries in New York.”
Shoppers not only provide funds for veterans’ meals with every purchase, they also can learn more about Feed Our Vets, or donate directly, by clicking the organization’s logo on The Veterans Site home page.
