Clutch Group, an organization dedicated to providing the professional services for law, is pleased to announce the addition of Sean Byrne and Matt Jackson as Senior Directors in Clutch’s Chicago office.

Sean Byrne, a recognized expert in forensic technology and discovery management, joins Clutch from Byrne Law Group. Sean has served as a litigator and consultant in the e-discovery space for more than 15 years, advising corporations and law firms on litigation readiness, legal hold implementation, litigation support department operations and optimization, and the preservation, analysis and review of ESI. Sean previously spent time at global litigation services groups of FTI, KPMG, and Axiom Law. Sean is a member of the Seventh Circuit Electronic Discovery Pilot Program, where he serves as co-chair of its Technology Sub-Committee. Along with his work on various subcommittees, Sean co-chaired and coordinated the Pilot Program’s widely-acclaimed Predictive Coding workshop. In addition to his JD, he holds a certification in Project Management from DePaul University, and is a certified Six Sigma Green Belt.

“I am very excited to be joining such a forward-thinking team,” said Sean. “I look forward to helping Clutch harness its process management and considerable technological expertise to continue driving value for clients.”

Matt Jackson joins Clutch after over a decade working at Sidley Austin LLP, where he focused on complex e-discovery matters and developed and implemented strategies to maximize efficiency in large-scale discovery. Matt’s practice emphasized a holistic approach to data management for investigations and litigation discovery including ways to leverage institutional knowledge across matters, defensible but practical preservation policies, and non-linear review techniques. Matt has worked on a large scope of matters, including large DOJ second requests, bankruptcy litigations, and mortgage-backed securities litigations involving the production of hundreds of millions of pages of documents. Matt has a wide range of e-discovery experience, including in-house counsel experience in the technology industry, and has regularly consulted with clients in the financial services, technology, and life sciences industries on information management, discovery-readiness solutions and advising on developments in law and technology.

“When you look at the legal industry, Clutch is the company that stands out for its innovative, forward thinking, and client-first approach,” said Matt. “I could not be more excited to join the Clutch family.”

In their new roles as Senior Directors, Sean and Matt will manage major global engagements for diverse clients across the pharmaceutical and financial services industries. They will also serve on the firm’s client engagement team to assist with client account management and client development.

“We are very excited to have Sean and Matt join our team,” said Laura Jungels, AVP at Clutch. “They bring a tremendous amount of knowledge and expertise to the table and will be vital in helping to grow and manage our global operations.”
