Meet Candidates May 10 at GoatStock at Lajitas Golf Resort

Late last night, Clay Moore Henry accepted the Goat Party nomination to run for mayor of the tiny Texas-Mexico border town of Lajitas, Texas. Promising a new start, Clay Moore Henry is excited to explore new ideas for Lajitas and is confident he can headbutt any challengers in the September general election at Lajitas Golf Resort.

Lajitas Golf Resort General Manager, Ruffin Moore, released the following statement:

“We are proud Clay Moore Henry accepted the challenge to run for Mayor of Lajitas. With his youth and vigor, combined with a long family heritage and strong ties to Lajitas, we are confident Clay Moore Henry will make an excellent Mayor.

“Clay Henry IV and Annabelle Clay-Reese extend their congratulations to their brother and look forward to working with him. Clay Henry IV encourages his supporters to hear young Clay Moore Henry out and keep an open mind. Somewhat less enthusiastically, maverick Annabelle promises not to headbutt her brother if he stays out of her way.

“While no potential challengers have yet emerged, we anticipate a hotly-debated race for the highly-coveted seat of Lajitas Mayor and we look forward to hosting all the candidates at GoatStock in May.”

The 2014 Lajitas Mayoral Election will kick off during GoatStock at Lajitas Golf Resort on May 10. Join the Resort in welcoming the candidates, learn more about their  platforms, and enjoy a day of live music, food, drinks, and fun. The way every election should be.

Clay Moore Henry and his siblings, Clay Henry IV and Annabelle Reese Henry, are direct descendants of Lajitas' famous goat mayor, Clay Henry, best known for his ability to consume up to 40 beers each day. Following Clay’s death, his son Clay Henry Jr. achieved nationwide celebrity, appearing in the television series The Streets of Laredo as well as an episode of the Sally Jesse Raphael talk show. After a near-fatal attack by a disgruntled constituent in 2002, Clay Henry III retired from public office. The return of the Henry dynasty to the Lajitas political scene has been greatly anticipated.
