Portland, OR (PRWEB) April 01, 2014 -- Network Redux, a leading managed web and application hosting provider, announced today that Joshua Galbraith has joined their team in the role of Chief Data Scientist.
“Joshua fills a critical need in our organization by bringing data expertise to our managed hosting experience,” says President and Founder, Thomas Brenneke. “As a result our clients will have direct and immediate access and technical assistance with their growing and often complex datasets.” Brenneke also adds, “Joshua has all the intellectual talents a role like this demands, but it’s his dynamic nature that makes him stand out in his field.”
After graduating cum laude with his Bachelor of Science in Mathematics from the University of Alaska, Galbraith collaborated on multiple research projects. Those projects involved migrating data from a variety of sources into relational databases and building, programming and maintaining custom microservers. Galbraith made his way to Portland, Ore. when he was hired by InstantAction, (now Garage Games) a web gaming company that specialized in high-end, browser based games. There he built a data source agnostic interface for engineers that integrated custom metrics, ticket tracking, and twitter feeds. After InstantAction was dissolved Galbraith moved on to LegitScript where he held various roles including Database Administrator (DBA) and Data Architect where he focused on data model development in a pair programming environment.
Galbraith’s professional interests focus primarily on ‘Big Data’ and helping companies who are faced with the challenge of how to store and retrieve data efficiently. Brenneke added, “We already have him working on MySQL configuration, optimization and replication dealing with large datasets and are excited to see how his talents will evolve our product offerings.”
Galbraith is deeply rooted in the tech community in Portland, Ore. where he resides with his wife and actively represents a new and emerging field of Data Science. He notes, “I am excited to start a new chapter at Network Redux and look forward to working with an incredibly talented team using innovative technology to solve complex issues for our clients.”
