What makes The Manse different is the fun and the excitement – not to mention the incredible dining program.
San Luis Obispo, CA (PRWEB) April 01, 2014
A spokesperson with The Manse on Marsh, a life-enriching assisted living San Luis Obispo facility, announced the recent appointment of Executive Director Gary Potts. In addition, Susan Harris and Jackie Edwards are now leading the Life Enrichment Team.
Potts brings along a wealth of experience earned while working in and developing various assisting living, nursing home and rehabilitation facilities in the Midwest, East Coast and other areas of the country before moving to California.
“I have been in the industry since my senior year in college,” said Potts. “I just love the people. I love learning about their history and life experiences; it’s always interesting to me.”
One of his first duties as the new executive director was interviewing and hiring a new leader for the Life Enrichment, or activities, program. After meeting with Harris and Edwards, Potts said he decided that both women had unique and dynamic qualities to offer.
“So I hired both of them to lead our Life Enrichment Team,” said Potts.
Potts, Harris and Edwards have been hard at work since joining The Manse team – adding new programs and activities to enhance the lives of their residents. Variety is the name of the game and, with recent events such as the St. Patrick’s Day Pub Crawl, it’s apparent that the residents are having the time of their lives.
Ongoing activities at The Manse include book clubs, writers’ club and Bible study as well as exercise classes such as yoga, Zumba and stretching. Upcoming activities at the Manse include:
- Scavenger Hunt, April 1
- Manse Auction, April 9
- Poetry & Story Readings, April 10
- Vintage Hat & Gown Fashion Show, April 25
- Hollywood Cabaret with Gloria Heidi, April 28
- Armchair Trip to France, April 30
With the addition of new staff members, activities and special events, The Manse on the Marsh continues to be one of the most active senior communities on the Central Coast.
“What makes The Manse different is the fun and the excitement – not to mention the incredible dining program,” said Potts. “When you walk in the doors, you can just feel it. Our purpose is to enrich lives and that’s what we set out to do each and every day.”
