Schafer Corporation Recognized by Northrop Grumman With Supplier Excellence Award
Arlington, VA (PRWEB) March 27, 2014 -- Schafer Corporation, leading provider of scientific, engineering and technical services and products in the national security sector, was recognized by long-term partner, Northrop Grumman, with a 2013 Supplier Recognition award for its outstanding work in support of the Integrated Battle Command System (IBCS) Program. Out of more than 5,000 companies, Schafer Corporation was one of only 21 companies selected based on its track record of exceptional performance.
“We evaluated companies based on the following evaluation factors: Schedule, Management, Technical, Financial and Quality,” said Jennifer Bonner, Northrop Grumman’s Subcontracts Manager. “Schafer has been working with us for many years and has consistently delivered valuable products and services,” said Rob Jassey, IBCS Deputy Program Director.
Schafer assists Northrop Grumman on the IBCS Program by providing support in various areas, including system architecture and requirements development, software development and configuration management, and life cycle cost management in support of the Mobile Test Node (MTN). The IBCS Program consists of establishing a network-centric systems-of-systems solution for integrating sensors, shooters and battle management, command, control, communications and intelligence systems for Army air and missile defense. The newly integrated system will allow warfighters to take advantage of expanded sensor and weapon system combinations via an integrated fire control network.
“We are truly honored Northrop Grumman has recognized Schafer Corporation with the Supplier Recognition award,” said John Gilligan, Schafer Corporation President. “We value our long-standing relationship and look forward to continuing to support Northrop Grumman’s Integrated Battle Command System.”
