Columbus, Ohio (PRWEB) March 26, 2014 -- Columbus-based EWI has been named as one of the 2014 Best Employers in Ohio. The annual list, compiled by the Ohio SHRM State Council and Best Companies Group, is made up of 40 companies from around the state. This year is the third time that EWI has received the top-ten designation since 2011.
The Best Employers awards program uses a state-wide survey to identify, recognize, and honor the best places of employment in Ohio, benefiting the state's economy, its workforce, and businesses. To be considered for participation, companies must fulfill the following eligibility requirements:
- Be a for-profit, not-for-profit business or government entity;
- Be a publicly or privately held business;
- Have a facility in the state of Ohio;
- Have at least 15 employees working in Ohio; and
- Must be in business a minimum of one year.
Each year, qualifying companies from across the state enter the two-part, 72-question survey process to determine the winning employers. The first part evaluates each nominated company's workplace policies, practices, philosophy, systems, and demographics. This part of the process is worth approximately 25% of the total evaluation. The second part consists of an employee survey to measure the employee experience, and is worth approximately 75% of the total evaluation. The combined scores and the congruency between company submissions and employee assessments determine the top companies and the final ranking.
“Once again, nearly 90% of EWI employees responded to the survey. This in itself is a measure of engagement” said Mark Matson, VP of Human Resources. “The results are gratifying as we have consciously made the effort to create an environment that offers meaningful work in an enjoyable and respectful setting.
President and CEO Henry Cialone also credits the staff. “EWI’s success as an organization is a direct reflection of the amazing people committed to our vision and core values,” he said. “Our culture is strong and our team is remarkable. In fact, it’s the best.”
