Burger enthusiasts in the Chicagoland area can look forward to having something new to drool over in 2014 and beyond, as MOOYAH Burgers, Fries & Shakes (MOOYAH), a fast-casual, “better burger” chain will open its doors for the first time on March 26, 2014 in Glenview, Ill., with an additional four restaurants scheduled to open over the next 18 months. Spearheaded by local entrepreneur, Jignesh Patel, the restaurant is located at 1839 Tower Drive and is the first MOOYAH to open in the state of Illinois.
“I’m excited to finally open my doors and offer high quality, fresh burgers to the Chicagoland area,” Patel said. “I joined the MOOYAH family because I experienced first-hand how appealing the burgers are and how welcoming the family-friendly atmosphere is. I’m looking forward to introducing the concept to customers and connecting with the neighborhood on a more local level.”
Despite his young age, Patel, 24, has extensive experience in the restaurant franchise industry. Starting out as a general employee for Subway at the age of 15, he moved his way up to become the general manager before deciding to open his own restaurant in 2008. Patel currently operates one out of the 10 Subway locations that his family collectively owns.
As the first MOOYAH franchisee in Illinois, Patel will be focusing his efforts on establishing the brand’s presence in Glenview before looking to grow in surrounding areas.
“Being the first franchisee in the state is really exciting,” he said. “I’m starting from the ground up and learning a lot along the way. We’re looking to open a second restaurant within six months of our debut in Glenview.”
At MOOYAH, guests start their made-to-order burger experience by choosing from freshly-baked white or whole wheat buns, or a low-carb, bun replacement of iceberg lettuce leaves. Next, Guests have the option of never-frozen 100 percent American beef, Jennie-O® turkey or the mouthwatering veggie patty, all decorated with unlimited veggies and a choice of nine delectable sauces.
In addition, the sides and dessert are not to be forgotten. MOOYAH French fries are not an afterthought, but a crucial component of the whole MOOYAH experience. The daily-cut spuds are always cooked fresh, and transformed into the perfect French fries through a proprietary six-step, 24-hour process. Guests also have the option of the ever-popular Sweet Potato Fries. To offset the savory side of the menu, MOOYAH offers handcrafted shakes made with 100 percent real ice cream. Like their burgers, MOOYAH shakes can be customized with fun ice cream flavors and sweet toppings such as M&M’s®, cookie dough and peanut butter cups.
