iPatientCare Announces the Release of ICD-10 Ready EHR and Commensurate Training and Resources for the Smooth Transition
All HIPAA-covered healthcare entities are required to switch to the new code set by October 1, 2014, meaning that their EHR software and medical billing systems must be compliant. Any claims submitted with ICD-9 codes for services provided on or after the October 1, 2104 will not be paid for. The transition to ICD-10 has a substantial impact on documentation of clinical care, physician productivity and practice reimbursement, and requires coordination between providers and their respective vendor.
"The transition to ICD-10 is a challenging process for all healthcare providers and their offices. Providing an excellent quality of products and support have been iPatientCare’s fundamental values. We realize the complexity of ICD-10 and the challenges facing the providers as they transit from ICD-9 to ICD-10 coding. iPatientCare’s recent upgrade and related training and support, such as, performing assessments, capturing charges, claims submissions, eligibility verification, and reporting etc are planned way ahead of the deadline so that iPatientCare users are ICD-10 ready before the deadline,” said Arnaz Bharucha, Senior Technology Officer, iPatientCare.
Kedar Mehta, CTO, iPatientCare commented, “ICD-10 transition can potentially have an overwhelming effect on the financial health of U.S. healthcare providers. To support industry transition to ICD-10 we have developed ICD-10 compliant, Meaningful Use Stage 2-ready solutions and significant resources to help both clients and non-clients for successful transition to ICD-10.”
