hyperCision Inc. and HC Labs collaboratively announced today that the companies have redirected dollars historically used to win the attention of potential clients at HR2014, an industry trade show, toward helping Girlstart, an organization dedicated to increasing girls’ interest and engagement in Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM).
“Our organizations have always been actively involved with charitable causes,” said Sharon Newton, hyperCision’s Founding Partner. "So this year, together with our business partner, HC Labs, we’ve decided to get our clients, prospects, and vendors in on the fun.” hyperCision and HC Labs announced this decision to all of their clients and vendors before the event, and signage was posted at their HR2014 tradeshow booth, declaring that a donation would be made to Girlstart for every person who visited the booth and allowed their badge to be scanned. “We felt very strongly that this would be a win for everyone,” said Jason Ichen, co-Founder of HC Labs. “We thought that more people would allow us to scan their badges, knowing that it was for such a great cause, than if we offered them a chance to win an iPad or something similar. In essence, we knew that doing a good thing for charity would do a good thing for our businesses as well.”
hyperCision and HC Labs were proven right when they received more leads than in any previous year. “While the attendance at this event was unexpectedly low, there was an overwhelmingly positive reaction from all of the attendees that saw our signage,” said Ms. Newton. In fact, the companies were so pleased by the positive feedback received from HR2014 conference attendees, they decided to increase the donation amount per scanned attendee from the planned $2 to $10. With the increased donation, hyperCision and HC Labs ended up donating a total of $1670 dollars. “We just wanted to make sure that Girlstart received a donation that would really make a difference,” said Mr. Ichen.
