Apartment Guide’s Prospective Renter Leads Increase by more than 22% Year Over Year in February

The number of prospective renters calling or emailing apartment properties on Apartment Guide increased by more than 22% year over year, comparing February 2014 to February 2013, according to Apartment Guide internal data. Properties listed on Apartment Guide received an average of 67 qualified leads each in the month, which is a record for the month of February, typically a relatively slow period for renters looking to move. Apartment Guide defines qualified leads as connected calls or email inquiries from a prospective renter to the community.

A large portion of the increase can be attributed to consumers transitioning to mobile search. Across all Apartment Guide apps and those searching for an apartment on their mobile devices via the mobile web, Apartment Guide increased leads to properties by 65% in February 2014 compared with February 2013.
According to Apartment Guide, the increase in February was driven by several factors:
• More than a 40% increase in SEO traffic to Apartment Guide from renters searching Google and other search engines. Apartment Guide consistently outranks other listing sites when renters are looking for an apartment.
• Investment in HD content based on what consumers most desire. More than 16% of clients are utilizing HD photos, which result in an average increase of 10% in leads compared to communities not featuring HD photos to market vacant units.
• Commitment to mobile search. Mobile leads now account for more than 40% of all leads, according to Apartment Guide data. Apartment Guide was the first in the industry to launch iPhone®, Android™, iPad® and Kindle® apps.
