The Stratasys Objet Eden350V starts by reading the data from a 3D computer aided design (CAD) drawing and then uses ultra-thin-layer Objet inkjet-based technology to create a physical model based on a series of virtual cross sections. The printing process involves laying down successive ultrafine 16 micron layers of liquid, powder or sheet material, which are joined together to build a prototype that closely resembles the final product. These high resolution layers ensure smooth surfaces, thin walls and complex shapes.
