The Hemet based RV resort once again celebrated the winter season with a “star studded” gala.

Officer Gomez and his K-9 partner joined the festivities to say thank you to GVP.

...we were able to break the $10,000 mark in fundraising for disabled veterans.

On Friday, March 21, Golden Village Palms RV Resort and its guests celebrated the wonderful 2013-2014 winter season with the annual Academy of Palms Gala. The gala also capped off a season of fundraising for local disabled veterans.

“The Academy is a fun-filled evening to celebrate our guests,” remarked Michael Carle, General Manager at Golden Village Palms. “But, we also try to make sure we’re doing something for our community. In this case, we were able to break the $10,000 mark in fundraising for disabled veterans.”

Donations collected at Golden Village Palms RV Resort began in May of 2013 with activities like the popular Super Saturday Charity Fundraisers. At final count, the resort and guests raised $10,798. All proceeds will be donated to the local American Legion Post. The organization’s veteran’s advocate was on hand to accept the donations.

Officer Gomez of the Hemet Police Department, last year’s donations recipient, also attended the event with his K-9 partner Jack. Jack, a German Shepherd, was purchased with the money raised last year by the resort and guests.

Continued Carle, “We try to find a new cause every year, and are excited to announce that next year we will be working with Mt. San Jacinto College to build college scholarships for deserving young adults. Our goal is $15,000.”

Golden Village Palms RV Resort not only supports local organizations, but the Hemet community at large. In 2013, the resort brought over 25,000 people to the city, and hosts a number of events including popular tribute concerts. For more information and event photos, visit
