Reclaimed Wood Gains Awards for Pioneer Millworks’ Commercial and Retail Partners
Farmington, NY (PRWEB) March 31, 2014 -- An increasing number of Pioneer Millworks’ retail and commercial partners across the nation are getting a sustainable makeover as they update their spaces to be more visually appealing by incorporating reclaimed wood. From the flooring to the walls, and all the fixtures in between, these projects are winning awards in design, their service and sustainability.
“Design trends for commercial spaces continue to draw from organic and natural materials, with reclaimed wood being a perfect fit. As one of the largest reclaimed wood companies in North America, Pioneer Millworks prides itself on developing fresh ideas for these surfaces with architects and interior designers to help them create unique and award-winning projects,” explained Jered Slusser, reclaimed wood and design expert at Pioneer Millworks.
The Association for Retail Environment (A.R.E.) awarded two of Pioneer Millworks’ partners for their use of reclaimed wood in displays and fixtures throughout their spaces. Outdoor clothing retailer, Teva, was awarded the Outlet Store Design which featured Pioneer Millworks’ reclaimed American Gothic Oak around the cash wrap and fixtures, while the Verizon Destination Store at the Mall of America was awarded for their fixtures as well, making use of Pioneer Millworks’ reclaimed Railyard Oak. Restaurants in New York City, like Saxon and Parole, are serving up award winning dishes on reclaimed bowling alley tables, surrounded by reclaimed Foundry Maple walls. In Upstate New York, Passero Associates headquarters was awarded BUILDINGS Magazine America’s Best Building of the Year (and the winner of Rochester AIA Mayor’s Award for Design Excellence) which features Settler’s Plank reclaimed wood flooring throughout the lobby and incorporated antique Heart Pine stair treads.
Pioneer Millworks would like to congratulate their partners in retail, hospitality, and commercial design on their recent achievements and look forward to continued work with a focus on sustainability.
